Thanks for your interest in being Bob
UserBob uses Mechanical Turk workers to review and test web sites. It is extremely easy yet fun work. You will be asked to visit a particular web site and attempt to complete a particular task. While you are using the site you need to say out loud what you are thinking. As you test a site, you will record what's on your screen and what you are saying. In this way web site developers will be able to get a better understanding of how easy their site is to use and what areas might need improving. UserBob will periodically review your recordings and give you suggestions on how you could do better.
New testers will be restricted to doing shorter tests. As you gain experience you may be approved to do longer tests which pay better.
To be a tester (or a Bob as we like to say) you need the following:
- Software that can record what's on your browser's screen and your voice. The software needs to be able to save your recording as an .mp4 or .webm file. A free tool you can use is the Screencastify extension for Chrome.
- An Amazon Mechanical Turk worker account.
